VFFF Commissions 10-Seater Toilet Facility For Dominase D/A Bacic School
Viola Ford Fletcher Foundation (VFFF) Ghana Chapter has handover a 10-seater toilet facility to Dominase D/A Basic School, located at Gomoa Dominase in the Gomoa East District in the Central Region.
The facility was commissioned on April 27th, 2023 on behalf of the Visioner of the Foundation Queen Viola Ford Fletcher and the president Mr. Ike Howard by the Vice President HRM Eze AMB. Dr. Chukwudi Ihenetu the paramount King of the Igbo People in Ghana and assisted by Hon Solomon Darko-Quram, the DCE and HRM Ugoeze Liberty Ihenetu, Mpuntuhemaa Nana Ekua Tsetsewa I was to enable the school have a decent toilet facility for proper defecation.
Speaking at the short but colourful ceremony to officially commission the project, HRM Eze AMB Dr Chukwudi Ihenetu who doubles as the VFFF Vice President and the paramount King of the Igbo People in Ghana said the VFFF foundation is committed to serving humanity.
Adding that, VFFF is much pleased to serve Dominsae D/A Basics School. This will go a long way to save the school.
“We decided to build this facility to help these little ones because they are the future leaders. Most of the sicknesses that we contracted were from where we go to defecate. All these little children, a little infection can destroy their lives if we don’t take time but if we have a good place where they will go as a restroom that will save their lives”.
Again, he noted that VFFF will try to support the community and the school in the best way it can.
VFFF we came into this village to provide this facility to this particular school but we have heard they are requesting more facilities or support for the good of the community. We want to assure you we will do the best we can to support the community. We can not do it all but we will do the best we can to add more value to what we have done”.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) Hon Solomon Darko-Quram urged the teachers and parents present to motivate and inspire children to effectively utilize the resource provided to them.
He also cautioned the students and the school management to act firmly in promoting good hygiene practices to avoid outbreaks of sickness in the school and the community at large. He called on them to wash their hands thoroughly with soap and water anytime they visit the toilet.
Daniel Atah Nkrumah, the headmaster of the school in his remarks expressed his appreciation to Viola Ford Fletcher Foundation for the kind gesture and pledged his commitment to maintaining the structure in its shape.
VFFF also donated pads, panties, toothpaste and a toothbrush to the female students, while the males received toothbrushes, toothpaste, and roll-on for their hygiene.
The Chiefs of the community thanked the VFFF for such a wonderful project in their community as the school has been in dire need of a toilet facility for so many years – a situation that has forced them to engage in open defecation. They pledged their commitment to maintaining the facility to achieve its intended purposes.
They pleaded with the VFFF to continuously support their community with some social amenities. Some of the students seized the opportunity to thank the Viola Ford Fletcher Foundation for their kind gesture.
