The Bono East regional chairman of the Ghana Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists (GAMLS), who is also a lecturer and the Head of the Department of Medical Diagnostics at Kintampo College of Health and Well-Being and a Virologist, Mr. Moses Kofi Woli has explained the complicated nature of treating virus-induced infections.
Speaking in an interview on High Morning Breeze, Mr. Woli Kofi Moses elucidated that some viral diseases don’t require the intake of medicine to cure them because the Human Immune System may be capable to fight against them in due course adding that some other diseases cause by the virus must require the intake of medicines before it can be dealt with.
He further stressed that the general treatment of viral diseases is very much complicated indicating that the viruses after getting access into the human body take over the human system cells which leads to multiple productions of the viruses by the human cells therefore an attempt to kill the virus to get relieved will result to the gradual killing of the cell in the human system which is tantamount to killing oneself.
“Although, there are some Virus-induced infections that are permanently treated with drugs or the immune system, however, the treatment of viral diseases, in general, is problematic.” he asserted
Mr. Woli Moses further advised the general public to embark on body exercise and also eat more fruits and vegetables which according to him will strengthen the immune system to be able to fight infections.
