The Royalhouse Chapel International women wing known as Royal Ladies Ministry, has donated much needed medical supplies to the Korle-bu oncology pediatric cancer unit.The donations included a cheque of hundred thousand cedis (100,000 cedis) 40 boxes of bucket wipes 5 big boxes of nose masks 10 big boxes of face shields ,10 boxes of nasal cannula, 10 gallons of sanitizer, together with 2 hospital beds ,6 mattress ,2 boxes of XXL surgical gowns.
Other items donated were 2 boxes of isolation downs , 2 wheel chairs, walking aids elbow, 3 crutches 3 airbeds and 2 bedside drawers.The donation was made at a ceremony on 5 november 2024 at the Hospital in Accra.
Presenting the donation for the Church was Reverend Rita Korankye Ankrah Founder and President of royal ladies ministries international. She was joined by other Area and local leaders of the Church. Representing the Korlebu hospital was, chief executive officer( CEO) Frank owusu sekyere and medical doctors of the oncology departments.
During the last few years, the Church has developed a special relationship with the Ministry of Health as part of its humanitarian efforts.
During the presentation of the donation,Reverend Ankrah noted that ,the royal ladies international engages in humanitarian efforts throughout the country. These efforts are funded by the charitable contributions of the church “This includes donations from members of our Church and added, “they do this because they desire to be more like Christ and want to alleviate the suffering children in need of cancer care.They don’t desire recognition for their selfless giving…they just want to know that good is being done…and I believe that good is being done here today.”
Receiving the donation for the Hospital was the chief executive office of korlebu teaching hospital, frank owusu Sekyere. He shared the incredible need for this equipment. He also noted that their oncology unit lacks some of the essential equipment necessary to improve the neonatal experience and decrease the infant mortality rates.” He thanked the Church saying, “This is a proud day for us all. We are so grateful for this uncommon humanitarian gesture. With their donation, the hospital will be able to treat more renal and cancer patients timely and more infants will benefit from cancer care.
Reverend Korankye said,” It is my prayer for all here today that these donations will ease the suffering of kids from Cancer who struggle to receive the basic care necessary to live a normal and healthy life. My hope also is that we will continue to find ways to decrease the infant mortality rate in Ghana”
Rev.Korankye concluded her remarks by urging for accountability in the proper maintenance and care of this equipment. “It is our wish that this donation, given in love, will stand the test of time and help increase positive health outcomes at the oncology department of cancer care for many years to come. We hope to be able to return regularly to witness the impact of this donation.”
