Hon. Ralph Poku-Adusei, Member of Parliament for Bekwai Constituency, has asserted that the minority is very prepared to hold the current government to account as they take over the affairs of the Nation. Addressing the media after the swearing-in ceremony, Hon. Poku-Adusei stated that the Minority would hold the government to account, despite the NDC’s strong majority in Parliament. He emphasized the importance of a strong and united Minority caucus in ensuring that the government is transparent and accountable to the people.
“We will not shy away from our responsibility to scrutinize the government’s policies and actions,” Hon. Poku-Adusei stated. “We will hold them to their promises, starting with H.E. John Mahama’s 120-day social contract with Ghanaians.”

The event saw the retention of the Speaker and 2nd Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Alban S. Bagbin and Hon.Andrew Amoanko Asiama MP, Fomena from the 8th Parliament, with the addition of Hon. Bernard Ahiafor, MP for Akatsi South as the 1st Deputy Speaker of Parliament.
