THE CIRCULATION OF ENERGY

The circulation of energy is the central thesis of the universalitic medical philosophy of China on which most traditional medicine is built upon. According to this philosophy, the universe is in a state of cosmic energy flux.

This energy exists in every material and living organism. Energy is transformable from one state to another and may exist even in non-material state as well.

These well defined metaphysical concepts in many aspects show remarkable similarities to our present day laws of Thermodynamics and in certain features even anticipated the relativity of theories of Einstein.

Nevertheless, whereas Einstein hypothesized rewarding the energy changes in the external world, Chinese medical philosophers concentrated on the internal energy balances of the body. So as to understand diseases and life processes.

The basic difference between the orientation of Western scientific medicine and traditional oriental medical philosophy is that, the former is oriented to biomedical changes in the body. While the latter deals essentially with the energy imbalances in the body.

While the therapeutics of western scientific medicine is concerned mainly with altering the disease state by chemical means.

Traditional medical therapies like Acupuncture seeks to normalize the pathology of correcting the energy imbalances in the body.

It is against this backdrop of internally balancing the energy flow that in patients that traditional medicine like Acupuncture is needed so badly.

The age of reasoning begins because we have to cultivate health instead of treating diseases.

Circulation of energy in the body is noted largely in the usage of Acupuncture in treating illness.

The energy pathways run through what is usually called meridians or channels. Meridians are simply paths within the human body through which the body’s vital essence and blood flowd.

The flow connects internal organs both in and out of the body. This flow also moves up and down forming a network of flow in the body.

It is believed by Chinese Medicine Medical Practitioners this network has its surface out of the body and are called meridians. Well trained Doctors carry out diagnosis and treatment of patients by stimulating Acupuncture points.

Although invisible and untouchable meridians and acupoints have been proven by modern-day scientific experiment to be exceptional because these points have been proven to be extremely sensitive and display a higher pedigree of electric field far more than other places with no such acupoints on the body.

When meridian flow without impediment, the body is in a solid state of complete health and when meridians are obstructed it becomes liable to diseases.
