President John Dramani Mahama used his inaugural address to extend his thanks and commendation to former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his role in ensuring a peaceful transition.
Acknowledging the intensity of the campaign, President Mahama expressed his appreciation to Dr. Bawumia for conceding early in the electoral process, “Your sportsmanship in making an early concession eased tensions and contributed to the early conclusion of the electoral contest.” This act, President Mahama noted, helped to reduce tension and allow for the smooth transition of power.
He then wished Dr. Bawumia well in his future endeavors, “I wish you all the best in your endeavors.” President Mahama’s remarks acknowledged the significance of Dr. Bawumia’s actions to the peace of Ghana.
