NDC Greater Accra Regional Secretariat Launches Award Scheme to Recognize Hardworking Constituencies at Alisa Hotel
Accra, Ghana – In a move to boost morale and drive grassroots engagement ahead of the December 7, 2024 elections, the NDC Greater Accra Regional Secretariat held a special ceremony on Monday afternoon at the Alisa Hotel’s pavilion section. Party members and executives gathered to inaugurate an award scheme designed to honor hardworking branches, wards, and constituencies that demonstrate exceptional commitment to securing victory for both their local candidates and presidential candidate, JM.
Representing Hon. Delphina Jones, a senior member of the Church Street Proforum Associate and an executive within the Greater Accra NDC regional leadership, was Jeremiah Maclean (popularly known as Jnr JM), President of CS PF Associate. Due to prior engagements, Hon. Delphina entrusted Maclean with her representation, alongside notable NDC members Jeff Asiwome, Nii Nai Gogo, and Anita Otchere Darko. A dedicated team from the Associate, led by Julius and Handz, also attended in support of the event.
The award scheme, according to organizers, is intended to incentivize and recognize branches, wards, and constituencies that demonstrate a strong commitment to mobilizing and campaigning efforts. The initiative aims to fortify the NDC’s foothold in the Greater Accra Region, which remains a critical area for electoral success. The party hopes that the scheme will inspire even greater efforts from its base, especially in constituencies where the party is targeting victory.
Chairing the ceremony was Hon. Richard Anamoo, former Director-General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), who delivered a motivating address to attendees. He called on all NDC members to “work hard and stay unified in purpose,” emphasizing that only a coordinated effort can yield victory in the upcoming elections.
A highlight of the ceremony was a speech by Comrade Ashi Moore, widely recognized as “Chairman ‘Obiaa Bedi’,” or “Follow Who Know Road.” Chairman Moore thanked the dedicated committee members whose diligent efforts brought the award scheme to fruition, underscoring the vital role that the recognition of party contributions plays in mobilizing and sustaining grassroots energy.
The evening served as a powerful reminder of the NDC’s solidarity and the collective determination to secure victories across Greater Accra’s constituencies. As the elections draw near, initiatives like this award scheme reflect the NDC’s commitment to acknowledging the dedication of its members at every level, rallying both local leaders and volunteers around a shared goal of success for the party’s candidates.
