Mahama’s 24-Hour Economy Strategy Has Potential to Create Jobs If

Eric Oduro Esq. has hinted that President John Mahama’s 24-Hour strategic concept has the potential to create jobs in various sectors of the economy if proper policies, systems, strategies, and mechanisms are put in place. Industries could cash in on this multi-million dollar market with the potential to become a key player in the global employment ecosystem.

According to Lawyer Oduro, a 24-hour economy would thrive in Ghana, where economic activities occur during the day, and by extending operations into the night. Businesses can leverage on the concept if proper understanding and awareness is created. The merits of the concept can bolster increases in productivity and job opportunities, especially for the youth.

The 24-hour economic strategy document involves encouraging businesses to operate around the clock, using a three-shift system. This approach can enhance productivity and job creation, ultimately contributing to Ghana’s economic growth and development.

Eric Oduro, Esq emphasized that some businesses are capable of producing around the clock, if provided with the necessary enabling environment, in respect of human resources, logistics, conducive working environment, supervision and monitoring the intractably lazy attitude amongst some Ghanaians, especially those in the public sector. He believes that Mahama’s 24-hour economy strategy can change business dynamics across all sectors of the economy if well implemented, with carefully crafted national strategic policy to guide its frontiers.

Good talk, Party enthusiasm and subtle political campaign manoeuvres can never help a key flagship policy of the new government to succeed if the normal rhetoric is not translated into concrete actions. If it still dangles in the domain of pampered inaugural honeymooning, then l am afraid its success could be stretched much farther.

The Twenty-Four Hour Economy* mantra may focus on offices, transportation, retail, services and tourism sectors, among a host of others, to determine how the 24-hour economy strategy can generate economic value and add to Ghana’s Gross Domestic Product.
