In a moment of profound gratitude, President John Dramani Mahama formally accepted the mandate to lead Ghana, using his inaugural address to acknowledge and thank a wide array of individuals and groups.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, President Mahama began by expressing his deepest appreciation to all those who participated in the democratic process, stating “I am so grateful for this opportunity and I’m grateful to all that are present today.”

He then specifically acknowledged the presence of numerous dignitaries and individuals, including political figures from across the spectrum, and representatives of various civil society groups, and international communities, along with the citizens who had given him the opportunity to serve the country.

He underscored the inclusive nature of his governance and the unity he hopes to foster during his presidency.
