Dr. Prosper Adeti Gold Coast Mobility Innovations Limited Finance Officer has expressed its commitment to providing professional training for commercial motorcycle riders, popularly known as Okada, to enhance their operations in the country.
This initiative follows the government’s decision to regulate Okada activities as part of efforts to create employment opportunities for the youth of Ghana.
Speaking to the media after a courtesy call on the Finance Officer of Gold Coast Mobility Innovations Limited of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA),
Dr. Prosper Adeti Chief Finance Officer Gold Coast Mobility Innovations Limited, commended the government’s initiative to legalize the Okada business.
He emphasized the need for the regulation to be carried out professionally, advocating for Okada riders to undergo formal training to ensure safety and efficiency in their operations.
Dr. Prosper Adeti Chief Finance Officer Gold Coast Mobility limited Innovations urged the government to collaborate with certified driving schools across the country to provide structured training programs for Okada riders. He noted that such training would equip riders with the necessary road safety knowledge, defensive riding skills, and compliance with traffic regulations.
He also highlighted the importance of instituting a licensing system specifically tailored for commercial motorcyclists.
