Oxygen African health forum has Launch a program to support quality health care delivery in Ghana.
Ghana has made major strides in improving access to health services. Despite these improvements, Ghana did not meet the Millennium Development Goals 4 and 5. Quality of care is a major factor that could explain this shortfall.
To understand current practice and to identify needs in the area of quality of care in Ghana for improving health outcomes and to guide the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) in supporting the care quality improvement efforts in Ghana.
According to Dr.Baffour Awuah who came to represent health minister said, Ghana becomes Africa’s leading provider of quality healthcare. Ghana has become the first nation in sub-Saharan Africa to provide quality healthcare for Oxygen African health forum in the country.
The Oxygen African health forum was brought into the country following a collaboration between the ministry of health and private sector to bring more development into our society as well.
Speaking to the press he said, the ministry will provide details on the partnership, with the Oxygen African health forum of the Ghana Health Service.
“We are happy Ghana is the first country where disease treatment would be a priority With the step taken by Ghana to provide the drugs to health centers across the country, he said, death that is caused by the disease would become a thing of the past.
He added that, they are in talks with government to ensure that the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) covers the medicine so that it could be available to all.
