Ga Presbytery 2022 Session Begins
The Ga Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) have commenced the 2022 Presby Session with a call on Christians to walk in the light of God.
It was themed “Jesus Christ the Light of the world.”
Many presbyterian Ministers from the Ga Presby and other jurisdictions graced the occasion which aimed at deliberating on issues about the presbytery and how they could use their impact to support the development of Ghana as they have been doing over the years.
In his sermon, Reverend Dr Abraham Nana Asare Kwakye advised Christians to live a life pleasing to God, saying the light of the almighty must have a reflection in all the endeavours of those who worship him in truth.
He noted that making a conscious effort to promote godliness attracts blessings from God.
Touching on the need for the promotion of development in both the health and educational sectors of the country, Reverend Kwakye stated that plans were underway to commence the construction of a cancer treatment health facility in Ghana by the Presbyterian Church of Ghana as part of efforts to reduce the mortality rate of persons who died from cancer in Ghana.
He bemoaned that cancer was claiming many lives because of the limited resources available in the country to manage the disease.
“It sometime takes up to three months for persons who have been diagnosed to start treatment at most of the government hospitals in the country due to the large number of persons on the cancer treatment waiting list and this is heartbreaking.”
“We are already doing our best in terms of education and other areas but we will not stop. This hospital will be constructed to support the sick people,” he added.
When asked about how he felt about the introduction of the Electronic levy (E-Levy), he mentioned that it would only be a bad move if government does not use monies accrued from the levy to develop the country.
“I do not have any problem with any form of tax but authorities must ensure that we all benefit from the taxes we are paying,” he said.
