East Legon Accident: Send Salifu Amoako’s son to Borstal Home – Gyewu-Appiah

A member of the National Communications team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Benjamin Gyewu-Appiah, has called for the son of Prophet Salifu Amoako to be sent to a borstal home in connection with the tragic deaths at East Legon.

He made these comments on the Atinka TV morning show, “Ghana Nie,” hosted by Ama Gyenfa.

Gyewu-Appiah’s comments come in the wake of Prophet Salifu Amoako’s controversial stance in defending his son, allegedly involved in the tragic incident at East Legon, which claimed several lives. According to the Prophet, his son did not use a gun in the incident, a statement that Gyewu-Appiah believes is unhelpful and inconsiderate to the bereaved families.

The NPP communications member stressed that if Prophet Amoako is unable to express empathy towards the families, he should refrain from speaking about the issue altogether.
He added that if a child from a less privileged background had been involved, justice would have been swift and severe, implying that wealth and influence may be shielding the Prophet’s son from full accountability.

The case has sparked public outrage, with many calling for thorough investigations and justice for the victims.
