Abossey Okai Spare Parts Ladies Movement congratulates Prof. Opoku-Agyemang

The Abossey Okai Spare Parts Ladies Movement has congratulated President John Dramani Mahama and Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang on her assumption of office as the first female Vice President of Ghana.

In a statement, the group said the Vice President’s achievement is not a feat for her alone but a milestone for all women in the country.

“On behalf of the Abossey okai spare parts ladies Movement, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to you on your historic achievement as the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana.

“Your new role is not only a personal milestone but a monumental step forward for gender equity and women’s empowerment in Ghana and beyond. As an accomplished academic, trailblazer, and leader, you have broken barriers and inspired countless women to dream bigger and aim higher,” portions of the statement indicated.

The statement further described Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s feat as “a beacon of hope and progress for women across the nation, affirming that leadership has no gender barriers. It reflects your steadfast dedication to serving Ghana with integrity, compassion, and a vision for inclusive growth.”

The group noted that its members are inspired by policies of the Vice President “including the establishment of the Women’s Development Bank and the provision of free sanitary pads for schoolgirls. These initiatives signify a commitment to empowering women economically and ensuring the dignity and well-being of young girls—a cause close to the hearts of all Ghanaian women. ”

The members say they are hoping that the policies would be implemented to bring relief to Ghanaian women, assuring her of their support in that regard.
