_YOUTH GROUP SOUNDS ALARM OVER ELECTORAL COMMISSION’S CONTRACT WITH INOLINK_
The Progressive Youth Federation Ghana (PYFG) has raised serious concerns over the Electoral Commission’s (EC) decision to award a contract to INOLINK, a private printing company, for the printing of ballot papers for the upcoming 2024 general elections.
According to PYFG, INOLINK’s involvement in the 2020 general elections was marred by corruption and violations of electoral laws, which compromised the integrity of the electoral process. The group claims that INOLINK printed over one million excess ballot papers without authorization, posing a significant risk to the fairness and transparency of the election.
“This is a clear violation of Ghana’s electoral laws and a threat to our democracy,” said Mr. Patrick Winibood Ndego spokesperson for PYFG. “We cannot allow the EC to compromise the integrity of the electoral process again.”
PYFG is demanding that the EC takes immediate action to address their concerns and ensure the integrity of the electoral process. They are also calling for transparency and accountability in the awarding of contracts for electoral services.
“We will not sit idly by as our future is compromised,” said Mr. Worglo. “We demand that the EC takes immediate action to address our concerns and ensure the integrity of the electoral process.”
The group has threatened to take legal action if the EC fails to address their concerns.
“We will explore all legal avenues to ensure that the EC does not compromise the integrity of the electoral process,” said Mr. Worglo.
