The municipal Director of agriculture in the Tano South Municipal of the Ahafo region, Mr. Paul Addai has revealed that his outfit is ensuring the organization of skill training for the people within the municipality to serve as an additional livelihood to enhance living conditions of indigenes of the Municipality.
Speaking on High Morning Breeze This Morning, Tuesday, January 31, 2023, Mr. Paul Addai disclosed that the Agric directorate is organizing skills training for the people in the production of mushrooms, the rearing of snails, Beekeeping, and Honey processing.
He indicated that the project is conducted by the department of Women In Agriculture Development (WIAD) led by Mrs. Faustina Anim the officer in charge of WIAD in collaboration with PATSARK and HUCAM to spearhead this project.
He added that this will go a long way to help the people by alleviating poverty and hardship.
On the financial charges for the program, Mr. Paul Addai explains that the program which should have cost about Ghc600.00 has been subsidized by the Agric directorate and the collaborated firms hence it has been reduced to Ghc200.00 with Ghc30.00 to be used to pick forms and Ghc170.00 as training fee.
He stressed that the directorate after the training will follow suit with the trainees to ensure they put into good use the acquired knowledge to benefit the individual, the municipal, and the country at large.
Finally, Mrs. Faustina Anim, the officer in charge of Women In Agriculture Development (WIAD) in the Tano south municipal advised the general public to take issues relating to skills training and entrepreneurship very seriously to enhance their living standards since that is the only work that can’t be taken away from you.
