Let’s protect our water bodies.

It is often said that water is life because it has no substitute. Since water is basic to man’s very existence, it is required that we treat our water bodies with utmost care.

Save the nation for future leaders, Mr. Kwadwo Atta Apeakorang, said, it is sad to note how some people take things for granted and treat water bodies in this country anyhow.

He said, People intentionally throw rubbish into rivers and onto our beaches, while others defecate into water bodies and use poisonous chemicals for their own business.

Various economic activities such as illegal mining “Galamsey” and farming near rivers , construction of buildings, felling of trees and many others contribute to the destruction of our water bodies.

“He said, For how long are we going to sit down as a nation and allow our environment to be subjected to such destructive activities.

Ghana to celebrate special days set aside to create awareness of the need to save the environment.
