Prof Rotimi Jayesimi has encouraged practicing and trainee nurses to seek relevant modern technological knowledge to enhance healthcare delivery.
According to Prof. Rotimi Jayesimi said, the COVID-19 pandemic has prompted a re-look at how healthcare should be delivered worldwide.
He said the Management of the health care should therefore considered it a necessity and motivation to use technology in training students to fit perfectly into the current trend of healthcare delivery.
Prof. Rotimi Jayesimi was speaking on the theme, “The Role of the Trainee in Delivering Quality Healthcare in Response to Changing Trends” at the leaders in health and teach 2022 conference at labadi Beach hotel.
According to Prof. Rotimi Jayesimi commended the Government for promoting and leading the “national digitization drive”, saying the hospitals was thus investing to build a robust Information Technology (IT).
infrastructure for hospitals and staff to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in their work.
Prof. Rotimi Jayesimi said,b the lessons taught by the COVID-19, especially its effects on healthcare workers demanded a re-examination of the packaging and delivery of healthcare services by healthcare policy makers and managers.

The pandemic, he indicated had led to health institutions and facilities moving away from the traditional ways of healthcare delivery to new scientific ways by adopting modern technologies in their operations.
He added that, said calls for E-medicine or telemedicine by stakeholders in the world were many and louder now than ever.
He advised the fresh health care centers to avoid any form of procrastination by realizing the enormity of their academic responsibility and to approach their academic work with the greatest degree of punctuality and seriousness to achieve their objectives.
