Rotary club of Accra-East Legon hands over hospital facility to Legon Hospital
The Rotary Club of Accra East Legon has handed over a hospital facility to the Legon hospital in the Ayawaso west wagon Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
This project was funded through a Rotary International (RI) – United States Agency for International Development Partnership (USAID) in collaboration with Legon hospital. and the Global Communities under the Water Sanitation Hygiene for Health Project.
Speaking at the event, the Peter Osei Asamoah President of Accra Rotary Club, expressed appreciation to the Rotary Club of Accra East, Rotary International, and all supporting partners.
He indicated that the project was implemented at a strategic time as the availability and accessibility to a good facilities at the time. The old facility for pregnant women had become more of a death trap, taking cognizance of the significance of the facility to the women and children of Legon hospital and surrounding communities.
He further expressed his sincere appreciation to the Rotary Club of Accra-East Legon particularly the Rotary Club for going an extra mile to make the entrance to the facility more accessible.
Peter Osei Asamoah President of Accra Rotary Club indicated that this project falls under one of Rotary International Areas of Focus which is improving access to hospital facility.
He further stated that the maintenance and sustainability of this project is at the heart of all Rotary International projects. He concluded by thanking all Project Partners for their contributions and commitment. Story by Fada Amakye from Daily Sun
