HepaGuard Project Kickstarted in Effutu Municipality as constituents undergo free Hepatitis B screening and vaccination.

The honourable member of parliament for Effutu constituency, Hon Afenyo Markins has donated one million Gh for the screening and treatment of HEPITATIS B in the constituency.

According to research by Ghana Health service, almost 4million youth in Ghana are infected with HEPITATIS B,

In an interview with , the project Manager for *Mumbies Foundation Ghana** Mr. Isreal Adorbley Expressed his displeasure of the low Education of HEPITATIS B unlike HIV/AIDS. He is therefore calling on the Government to place the the treatment of such diseases on the National Health Scheme so the the treatment can be affordable for the ordinary Ghanaians.

Mr Isreal Adorbley also appreciated the donation and the self sacrifice Hon. Afenyo Markins has done for the free screening of his constituent.

However, some beneficiaries who got the opportunity to be screened expressed their gratitude to the Honourable Member of Parliament, Afenya Markins

They therefore ceased the opportunity to urged their collegues who sees the exercise as trivial to change their thought and take HEPITATIS B virus very serious.
