CITLFA Holds Its 1st. Graduation Ceremony

CITLFA Holds Its 1st. Graduation Ceremony A total of students, including PhDs, master’s degrees, and undergraduate degrees and diplomas graduated from Chartered institute of Tax Law Forensic Accountants Ghana. (CITLFA) and received their degrees in various disciplines on Saturday 12th July 2023 during the 1st congregation Ceremony.

The ceremony marked the school’s 1st congregation as a university but the 1st. since becoming a public university in 2020

An address delivered by the Executive director Eric Oduro at the ceremony indicated that CITLFA has played a significant role in shaping the landscape of education in Ghana.

“Our journey as CITLFA is only three years old but our history and impact goes further than that. In the year 2020, through an Act of parliament, CITLFA was granted the status of a public university with a specific mandate to specialize in the training of students in the field of technology and engineering. This development marked a significant turning point in the university journey, opening new doors of opportunity for both faculty and students alike”.

He said, despite the limitation of land space on the campus, they are determined to be the Technology Hub University in Ghana.

As part of our mandate given by the parliament to ensure that we become the ICT university in ghana. “We are concentrating our strength to ensure that we widen our program based on ICT. So we have programs in ICT, Information Technology, Computer Engineering Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Cyber Security (diploma and BSc levels) among others “.

He stressed that the school is not interested in veering into other areas of programs. “We are an ICT university and virtually we want to ensure that we are over 90% ICT and all our programs are STEM-based so that we will be able to produce graduates that will go out there and become job producers, entrepreneurs, innovators, creators that will be solution bearers for ghana when it comes to the area of ICT”.

He commended and encouraged the graduates to make the university proud.

Executive director Mr. Eric Oduro seized the opportunity to appeal to the government to support the school with infrastructure so the school can build the silicon valley they want to build in the interest of the growth and development of Ghana.

One of the students in his address mentioned that the event was to ensure that the graduates go out to the world of work and apply the knowledge they have acquired.

He advised them to follow excellent work ethics and moral principles, and have perseverance as they advance to the next chapter of life. He further urged them to be driven by their visions, learn continuously, be patient and humble, value networking, and continuously serve others.

BSc Accounting in her valedictory speech lauded the school and everybody that supported and guided them throughout their journey in the school. The ceremony had in attendance parents, guardians, and families of the graduates as well as council members among others.
